All  Mailed Posts For November 2013

The purpose of this News Commentary Section is to assist the faithful in recognizing the signs and lies of These End Times. Somehow, many self appointed Shepherds of These Times are trying to convince the faithful that the Apocalypse will be, using street slang, "a piece of cake" for them and "hell" for all others. They are led to believe that if they "do this" and "do that" they do not have a thing to worry about (of course, so long as that between the "do this" and the "do that" they send in a donation).

Others lead the faithful to believe that "All Is Well" and will continue to be, of course, as long as those donations keep coming in...

Report: NSA broke into Yahoo, Google data centers. (1)

The Washington Post is reporting that the National Security Agency has secretly broken into the main communications links that connect Yahoo and Google data centers around the world.

According to a secret accounting dated Jan. 9, 2013, NSA sends millions of records every day from Yahoo and Google internal networks to data warehouses at the agency's Fort Meade, Md., headquarters.

In the last 30 days, the report Wednesday on the Post website said, field collectors had processed and sent back more than 180 million new records - ranging from "metadata," which would indicate who sent or received emails and when, to content such as text, audio and video.

miguel de Portugal comments: Once again we point out: 180 million new internet record in one month is less than the proverbial drop in the bucket. This situation is purposely being blown out of proportions and not because it really matters.

In a world in which when one drives into the parking lot of a department store, or through a expressway in Portugal, a camera takes your facial picture and that of the plate of the vehicle that you are driving and files it with time and date, all that we have seen about the NSA activities is simply "chicken feed" hardly worth a foot note.

U.S. spy agency denies that it eavesdropped on Vatican. (1)

The National Security Agency, responsible for U.S. electronic eavesdropping, said on Wednesday that it does not target the Vatican and called an Italian media report that it had done so "not true."

Panorama magazine said on Wednesday that the NSA had eavesdropped on Vatican phone calls, possibly including when former Pope Benedict's successor was under discussion.

"The National Security Agency does not target the Vatican. Assertions that NSA has targeted the Vatican, published in Italy's Panorama magazine, are not true," NSA spokeswoman Vanee Vines said in a statement.

According to Panorama, which did not cite a source for its information, the NSA had monitored 46 million phone calls in Italy from December 10, 2012, to January 8, 2013, including conversations in and out of the Vatican.

miguel de Portugal comments: Option One: If the NSA has not monitored the Vatican phone calls then, the Opus Dei personnel infiltrated in the the US government still has the upper hand on the US security apparatus.

Option Two: If that is not the case and they have not monitored the Vatican, they should!  There is not one organization in the planet more given to political intrigue than the Roman Catholic Church Administration - and they have 1,600 years of experience. That is precisely why the people's Republic of China will not allow the Vatican to control the RCC in China.

It is not surprising that China has been able to migrate from a very rigid communist regime to a highly productive semi capitalistic system without the destruction seen in other "liberated" countries across the world. There is one, and only one common thread to the above: The Vatican has been kept "out" of the RCC.

Remember, we are speaking of the Administration and not the Faith which seems to be the only thing that said Administrators are having more difficulty in destroying. Thanks be to God!

Adobe hacking attack was bigger than previously thought. (1)

An online attack at Adobe compromised personal data for tens of millions more customers than was previously reported, the company acknowledged on Tuesday.

While Adobe said stolen passwords were encrypted, security experts say that encryption typically delays but does not outright prevent hackers from cracking passwords and selling them on auction-like black market sites where a single password can fetch $20.

To crack passwords, hackers regularly exploit extensive online databases of common passwords and as many as 50 million so-called hash values. Others will use “rainbow tables,” which list encrypted values for nearly every alphanumeric character combination up to a certain length.

miguel de Portugal comments: And people worry about the NSA? Let's get serious, folks!

Euthanasia for Kids: Belgium is considering it. (1)

It's a jarring headline and a difficult debate: Belgium is currently weighing a bill that would legalize the euthanasia of children. It would obviously require the parents' OK, and apply only to those situations where the child is in what the AP calls a "desperately painful situation."

Proponents say it boils down to compassion. Still, the law would be an unprecedented one, though the Netherlands permits euthanasia among children over age 12 who fit tight requirements.
The bill is facing some tough opposition, with the Christian Democratic Flemish party promising to take its fight against it all the way to the European Court of Human Rights. The main argument: Children lack the capacity to make a decision of this magnitude.

One Catholic archbishop has argued that "palliative sedation," where patients are sedated and removed from life support, renders euthanasia unnecessary; but the AP points out death in that process comes by way of starvation, which can take days. Euthanasia among adults has been legal for more than a decade in Belgium, though this bill, proposed by the ruling Socialist party, would also expand the law there and extend the right to die to adults with early dementia. A final decision must be approved by Parliament and could take months.

miguel de Portugal comments: Abortion legislation started in the same manner and later on was approved essentially worldwide. Only God can stop this new atrocity.

Which professions have the most psychopaths? And which have the fewest? (1)

First off, psychopath doesn't just mean someone who cuts you up with a chainsaw - though the majority of people who do things like that are psychopaths. What is the definition?

Psychopathy is a personality disorder that has been variously described as characterized by shallow emotions (in particular reduced fear), stress tolerance, lacking empathy, coldheartedness, lacking guilt, egocentricity, superficial character, manipulativeness, irresponsibility, impulsivity, and antisocial behaviors such as parasitic lifestyle and criminality.

So which professions (other than ax murderer) have the most psychopaths? What about the least?

The top ten professions with the most psycopaths are, with the CEO's at the top:

CEO, Lawyer, Media (TV/Radio), Salesperson, Surgeon, Journalist, Police Officer, Clergyperson, Chef and Civil Servant

The top ten professions with the least psycopaths are, with the Care Aide workers at the top:

Care Aide, Nurse, Therapist, Craftsperson, Beautician/Stylist, Charity Worker, Teacher, Creative Artist, Doctor, Accountant

miguel de Portugal comments: Let's see.... The "Good News" must be that a clergy person is only 7th in the list of the professions with most psychopaths. Of course, we do wonder if the Hierarchs are considered CEO's.....

Israel destroys advanced Syrian missiles on their way to Hezbollah. (1)

Israel Air Force (IAF) planes on Wednesday night attacked and destroyed two military bases in Syria – one near Damascus and the other in Snobar Jableh, thirty kilometers south of the port city of Latakia. The Syrian military was preparing two large shipments of surface-to-air missiles – advanced versions of the SA-8 Gecko and S-125 Neva/Pechora - for delivery to Hezbollah.

The IAF destroyed the missiles before they were loaded onto truck for the trip to Lebanon. Wednesday's night attacks were the sixth and seventh attacks Israel launched against Syrian shipments of advanced arms to Hezbollah. The earlier five attacks took place on 30 January, 3 May, 5 May, 5 July, and 18 October.

miguel de Portugal comments: It is interesting to note how al-Assad bites his tongue every time Israel slaps them and takes no action as the result of said attacks. As we have said before, we may want to contract out to Israel our Defense Department.... after all, it seems that we contract out everything else... like  NSA workers, etc.

Can Britney Spears ward off a group of swashbuckling pirates? (1)

According to the British Royal Navy, the answer is: Aye aye, Captain!

The "Toxic" singer's catchy early hits like "Oops! I Did It Again" and "...Baby One More Time" have been used by naval officers to ward off Somali pirates off the east coast of Africa.

"Her songs were chosen by the security team because they thought the pirates would hate them most," Merchant Navy Second Officer Rachel Owens, who works on supertankers, told Metro UK.

Heavily armed Somali pirates regularly target cargo ships in the area and collected more than $40 million in goods in 2012, but according to a report presented to the United Nations Security Council, pirate attacks are at their lowest since 2006. In the first nine months since 2013, only 17 vessels have been attacked compared to 99 attacks in the same time period in the previous year.

"These guys can't stand western culture or music, making Britney's hits perfect. As soon as the pirates get a blast of Britney, they move on as quickly as they can," Owens continued.

miguel de Portugal comments: Leave it to God! He can make something good out of anything!

It does not matter what our perceived defects in a human being may be if they are channeled to a constructive end.

A partial eclipse brought a strange sunrise on Sunday, November 3rd. (1a)(1b)
Sunday morning, everyone on or near the Eastern Seaboard had the rare chance to watch an eerie celestial spectacle at sunrise. The sun came up over the east horizon while in a partial solar eclipse.

Instead of a golden ball, the sun was a weird, upside-down thick crescent
with, as seen from New England, a big bite missing from its lower right.

Sunrise for Boston happened Sunday at 6:20 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. (Daylight saving time ended just a few hours earlier, at 2 a.m.)

miguel de Portugal comments:  This will be seen many radical Muslims as a sign from God confirming the Rise of Islam over the world since the rising Sun will look just like the crescent moon - the symbol of Islam (2)

Others will see it as a triumph of Islam over the US since it will take place over New England.

To Shape Young Palestinians, Hamas Creates Its Own Textbooks. (1)

When a class of Palestinian ninth graders in Gaza recently discussed the deadly 1929 riots over access to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, it was guided by a new textbook, introduced this fall by the Islamist Hamas movement.

Asked the lesson of the uprising, one of the 40 boys in class promptly answered, “Al Buraq Wall is an Islamic property,” using the Muslim name for the site, one of the holiest in Judaism. Pleased, the teacher then inquired whether the students would boycott Israeli products, as Arabs had boycotted Jewish businesses in 1929. A resounding chorus of “Yes!” came back from the class.

For the first time since taking control of the Gaza Strip in 2007, the Hamas movement is deviating from the approved Palestinian Authority curriculum, using the new texts as part of a broader push to infuse the next generation with its militant ideology.

Among other points, the books, used by 55,000 children in the eighth, ninth and 10th grades as part of a required “national education” course of study in government schools, do not recognize modern Israel, or even mention the Oslo Peace Accords the country signed with the Palestine Liberation Organization in the 1990s.

miguel de Portugal comments: Just a reminder to anyone who may think that Justice, and then Peace, is possible without direct Divine intervention.

Indeed, Jesus said: Think ye, that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, no; but separation. [Luke 12:51], however, He was referring to His First Coming. In His Second Coming, Justice will be established with the "assistance" of His Megaphone (2), and then, and only then, we will have peace! The peace that the world can offer, as has been proven for thousands of years, is an illusory and fleeting peace which has left a trail of pain of destruction which is the legacy of the Prince of this World.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [John 14:27]

German police make biggest art find of the postwar era. (1)

Police in Germany have recovered over 1500 modernist masterpieces from a flat in Munich. The hoard, said to have been looted by the Nazis, includes works by Picasso, Matisse and Chagall.

The paintings found there way into the hands of a German art collector who passed them on to his son. The combined works are thought to be worth up to 900 million euros (1.2 billion US dollars).

miguel de Portugal comments: There is no tell what else, from the same period, is waiting to be discovered. This should fuel and fire up the ongoing quest for the mythical Nazi gold.

In the meantime, such treasure should be turned into cash and used to help needy Jews wherever they may be in the world today. Unfortunately, hell will freeze over before that happens! Or said in a different manner.... Bergoglio will have distributed the staggering excess wealth of the Roman Catholic Church among the poor of the world before that happens.

Currently, relatively little is known about the pyramids and the team is maintaining its silence regarding the details of the discovery. If the researchers prove the pyramids are man-made structures, the discovery may bring about the biggest revision of human history ever made.

Unjustified overtime pay routinely used by Department of Homeland Security employees. (1)

A report by the Federal Office of Special Counsel (OSC) offers details of what it calls a “gross waste of government funds” and a “profound and entrenched problem”: illegally claimed overtime by DHS employees. The practice, which may add up to 25 percent to an employee’s paycheck, has become so routine that it is often promoted as a perk when managers try to recruit new employees.

The Federal Office of Special Counsel (OSC) submitted a report to the White House and Congress on last Thursday in which it detailed what it calls a “gross waste of government funds” and a “profound and entrenched problem” at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Washington Post reports that  OSC is referring to the testimony of seven whistleblowers who claim employees at six DHS offices, including four within Customs and Border Protection (CBP), have illegally claimed overtime pay totaling $8.7 million a year.  The whistleblowers told OSC that the practice could add up to 25 percent to a paycheck, and has become so routine that it is often promoted as a perk when managers try to recruit new employees.

Blessed John Paul II's secretary says meeting with Legionaries founder was a mistake. (1)
Blessed John Paul II's 2004 meeting with and praise of the founder of the Legionaries of Christ, who later was banished to a life of penance because of sexual abuse, was a mistake, said the late Pope's longtime secretary. "The Holy Father should not have received that individual," said Polish Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz of Krakow, who served as personal secretary to the former Pope for 39 years.

In a new book, Ho Vissuto con un Santo (I Lived with a Saint), released in early November, Cardinal Dziwisz said the meeting was just one example of a serious lack of communication in the Roman Curia, which Blessed John Paul tried, largely without success, to reform.

Although rumours had been circulating for years that the Legion's founder, Father Marcial Maciel Degollado, had sexually abused seminarians, Cardinal Dziwisz said, "When the Holy Father met him, he knew nothing, absolutely nothing. For him, he was still the founder of a great religious order and that's it. No one had told him anything, not even about the rumours going around."

"Unfortunately," the cardinal said, "it was the consequence of a still extremely bureaucratic structure" where important information was not always shared.

A similar lack of communication, he said, led to retired Benedict XVI lifting the excommunication of traditionalist Bishop Richard Williamson in 2009 before finding out the bishop was a Holocaust denier when "it would have been enough to check the internet" to discover it.

miguel de Portugal comments: Although Cardinal Dziwisz is not in the list of  "my favorites" since he betrayed on of John Paul II's las wish regarding his personal documents, we must agree with him wholeheartedly. We know John Paul II well and he would have never paid tribute to Maciel if he had really known about his extracurricular activities. As a matter of fact, I truly believe that if he had been properly informed about them he would have sent him into "early retirement" without delay.

MF Global Customers Will Recover All They Lost. (1)

Two years after $1.6 billion vanished from their accounts, MF Global's customers are now all but assured to collect every last penny.

A federal bankruptcy court judge approved a plan on Tuesday that would close the remaining shortfall for some 20,000 customers, many whose lives were derailed when their money disappeared in the firm's final days.

As MF Global fought for survival in 2011, it improperly transferred customer money to its banks and clearinghouses, violating a cardinal rule of the financial industry. Federal investigators soon swarmed MF Global, a brokerage firm run by Jon S. Corzine, the former New Jersey governor.

miguel de Portugal comments: Another example of the many blessings that must be counted by US citizens and residents. The amount of money outright stolen by banks and "investment" firms from average people in Portugal and Spain is staggering and, if they ever get something back, it may be like 10 cents of the dollar, all the while their governments conveniently "look the other way".

The corporate thieves continue to live "high on the hog" while many elderly and disabled victims, who trusted in their banks, lost everything.

No, we are not running a pro-USA Campaign. We are just telling it like its is because we abhor injustice. Most people in the US have no idea - NONE! - how bad things really are outside our borders. Even in those, Oh, so romantic!, glittering European capitals.

What is Google building out in San Francisco Bay? (1)

San Francisco's mayor says he doesn't know what it is. Police say it's not their jurisdiction. And government inspectors are sworn to secrecy.

Google is erecting a four-story structure in the heart of the San Francisco Bay but is managing to conceal its purpose by constructing it on docked barges instead of on land, where city building permits and public plans are mandatory. Construction became obvious a few weeks ago.

The Internet giant's actions at Treasure Island appear legal. But the mystery surrounding the bulky floating building - and a similar one off Portland, Maine - is generating rumors and worries.

There is one agency keeping an eye on things: The Coast Guard has been routinely inspecting the two barges on the East and West coasts, as it would any vessel under construction, but spokeswoman Lt. Anna Dixon said she couldn't talk about what the agency has found, citing nondisclosure agreements with an entity other than Google.

miguel de Portugal comments: Brethren, only with the consent of a governmental authority greater than that of the cities of San Francisco and Portland this could be happening.... and we can only think of one "greater governmental authority" - the Federal Government.

More lenient school lice policies bug some parents. (1)

Some parents are scratching their heads over less restrictive head lice policies that allow children with live bugs in their hair to return to the classroom.

And some school nurses are no longer sending home the dreaded "lice note" to other parents with kids in the classroom, alerting them to the possibility of lice in their own child's precious locks. The policy shift is designed to help keep children from missing class, shield children with lice from embarrassment and protect their privacy.

"Lice is icky, but it's not dangerous," says Deborah Pontius, the school nurse for the Pershing County School District in Lovelock, Nev. "It's not infectious, and it's fairly easy to treat."

The National Pediculosis Association in Massachusetts is opposed to relaxing bans on lice and blames the updated policies for spreading the bugs.

Tips for treating head lice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: (2)

— Using an over-the-counter or prescription medicine, follow the instructions printed on the box or label. Hair that is longer than shoulder length may require two bottles. Be sure to note how long the medication should be left on the hair and how it should be washed out.

— Do not use a combination shampoo/conditioner or conditioner alone before using the lice medicine. Refrain from washing the hair for a day or two after the lice medicine is removed.

Catholics shouldn't attend Medjugorje 'visions', Vatican warns. (1)

The Vatican has warned Catholics not to participate in events where the alleged Medjugorje visionaries promise apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In a letter to the bishops of the United States, dated October, but only coming to light this week, Papal Nuncio Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano insists that "clerics and the faithful are not permitted to participate in meetings, conferences or public celebrations during which the credibility of such 'apparitions' would be taken for granted".

The note comes from the Vatican's powerful doctrine watchdog the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Mr Dragicevic, one of the alleged Medjugorje seers, had been scheduled to appear at two New England parishes in late October. However, both events were subsequently cancelled.

miguel de Portugal comments: We applaud such action. Unfortunately is many years too late.

Following is part of what we pusblished last February 26th regarding Medjugorje:

We wish to remind our readership about our position regarding Medjugorje since it seems that some have forgotten it:

The Medjugorje events were from God at the beginning, but when it was turned into just another business to be exploited using the Holy Names of Mary and Jesus, it was no more.  That is why we say that we agreed with the local Bishops at the beginning - when it was accepted as being from God - and also afterwards - when it was deemed a farce.

I visited Medjugorje in the second half of the eighties. It was not until I broke away from the tourist scene, which pervaded the whole area, that I could reestablish contact with the supernatural, which could be felt in that, once holy, village.

However, as the saying goes - "The proof of the pudding is in the making". Therefore, let us take a look at the fruits of Medjugorje.

One of the first teachings that Mary imparted at the very beginning, and which She repeated frequently, was:

"Through fasting and prayer, one can stop wars, one can suspend the laws of nature."

It was in 1987 - six years after the first Marian manifestation there - when the winds of war started to blow in the Federal Republic Of Yugoslavia  - where Medjugorje was located. Essentially the Milosevic era started and the rest is history... a bloody war history still being worked out in the World Tribunal at The Hague.

Then we must pose the following: Either Mary lied or the millions upon millions that visited Medjugorje prior to the Milosevic era were no more than religious tourists who took home with them little more than their dirty laundry and a few souvenirs.

Of course Mary did not lie! What She said is true and we know it (not believe it, but know it from much actual practice).

The same story with Kibeho, Africa.  Mary appeared there in 1981, and it was approved in 1982.

The bottom line, brethren, is that the Vatican could not care less about what is going on as long as the Faithful have something to entertain themselves with and not pay attention to the less-than-holy activities of the Church Administration like the preparation for the False Second Coming.

Remember - God allowed World War II because the Church Administration did not respond to Heaven - and nothing has changed in the way Heaven interacts with humanity.

And what we published on January 13th, 2010:

...the Viennese Cardinal Schönborn continues to promote Medjugorje and now compares it to Lourdes while calling it 'a school of normal Christian life'? (1)
[our highlights]

The cardinal said that the alleged messages of Medjugorje are not as important as the prayer that takes place there, including Eucharistic adoration, the Way of the Cross, Confession, and the daily praying of the entire Psalter. “In order to doubt that into Medjugorje a stream of grace flows, one must shut one’s eyes,” he added, comparing Medjugorje to Lourdes as a place where hearts are transformed.

Also comparing the Church’s caution towards the alleged apparitions to the Church’s caution towards St. Faustina, the cardinal stated that the “personal reliability” of the witnesses, the sensus fidelium, and the charitable works associated with Medjugorje are “surely an important element.”

“What does one learn from the Mother of God? The faith in everyday life! For me Medjugorje is a school of normal Christian life.”.

Maybe the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith should Tweet, or a least an e-mail to, Viennese Cardinal Schönborn about their position.

It used to be that "The right hand does not know what the left is doing". Now it is, "The right hand does not know that there is a left one!"

It would be as funny as Bergoglio acting as a clown, except for the fact that Many Cardinals, many Bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them.

Saudi nuclear weapons 'on order' from Pakistan. (1)

Saudi Arabia has invested in Pakistani nuclear weapons projects, and believes it could obtain atomic bombs at will, a variety of sources have told BBC Newsnight.

While the kingdom's quest has often been set in the context of countering Iran's atomic programme, it is now possible that the Saudis might be able to deploy such devices more quickly than the Islamic republic.

A 75-Year, 20 million dollar, Harvard Study Finds What It Takes To Live A Happy Life. (1)

In June 2009, The Atlantic published a cover story on the Grant Study, one of the longest-running longitudinal studies of human development.

The project, which began in 1938, has followed 268 Harvard undergraduate men for 75 years, measuring an astonishing range of psychological, anthropological, and physical traits - from personality type to IQ to drinking habits to family relationships to... in an effort to determine what factors contribute most strongly to human flourishing.

Vaillant's key takeaway, in his own words: "The seventy-five years and twenty million dollars expended on the Grant Study points … to a straightforward five-word conclusion: 'Happiness is love. Full stop.'?"

miguel de Portugal comments: Let's see.... God sent His only Son to explain to us, one more time, what all the prophets before him had tried to explain to humanity to no avail. He spelled it out and lived it:

[37] ....Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind. [38] This is the greatest and the first commandment. [39] And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments dependeth the whole law and the prophets. [Matthew 22]

Which is the only formula for hapiness, yet, it takes Harvard 75 years and 20 millions dollars to find that out?

Like a New Year's Resolution which is broken before sundown on the 1st of January, it seems that no matter how hard I try to avoid it,  I must revert to the only adjective that describes - to a "T" - the leaders of humanity: Stupid!

Scientists Warn of Extreme Risk to Humanity is From Fukushima Fuel Pools. (1)

It has been said that the greatest short-term threat to humanity is from the fuel pools at Fukushima.

The Japanese nuclear agency recently green-lighted the removal of the spent fuel rods from Fukushima reactor 4's spent fuel pool. The operation is scheduled to begin this month.

The head of the U.S. Department of Energy correctly notes:

The success of the cleanup also has global significance. So we all have a direct interest in seeing that the next steps are taken well, efficiently and safely.

If one of the pools collapsed or caught fire, it could have severe adverse impacts not only on Japan … but the rest of the world, including the United States. Indeed, a Senator called it a national security concern for the U.S.:

The radiation caused by the failure of the spent fuel pools in the event of another earthquake could reach the West Coast within days. That absolutely makes the safe containment and protection of this spent fuel a security issue for the United States.

Award-winning scientist David Suzuki says that Fukushima is terrifying, Tepco and the Japanese government are lying through their teeth, and Fukushima is "the most terrifying situation I can imagine".

Suzuki notes that reactor 4 is so badly damaged that – if there's another earthquake of 7 or above – the building could come down. And the probability of another earthquake of 7 or above in the next 3 years is over 95%.

miguel de Portugal comments: As you may recall, we recently pointed out that it is a Japanese version of the Mafia who is running the salvage process at Fukushima; logically Murphy's Law (Whatever can go wrong, will!) will apply with a vengeance. The only thing that will modulate the Fukushima disaster fallout is the Mercy of God, but considering how humanity has been utilizing the Graces granted by Him, we would not count on much of a reprieve or reduction of suffering. Actually, we are expecting the level of suffering by humanity to be increased.

Wikipedia and Paid Edits: Companies pay top dollar to firms willing to 'Fix' their entries. (1)

Wikipedia is facing an onslaught of editors paid by private interests to edit and create articles, while its volunteer ranks are dwindling. Can it successfully handle these special interests while retaining its reliability?

The ubiquitous megasite is the sixth most frequently visited website on the planet, and it received over 20 billion page views last month from people around the world who rely on it for accurate information.

Did you ever wonder if you're getting the whole truth, warts and all? Who's writing and editing these entries?

The site, which is devoid of advertising and free of charge to readers, relies on tens of thousands of volunteer editors to maintain its entries. ... And then there is Mike Wood. The 37-year-old Wikipedia editor is paid by companies and individuals to create and maintain articles that present them in the best light.  Tons of aid in Philippines, but not where needed. (1)

Aid is coming to Tacloban: medical supplies, pallets of water and food piled on trucks, planes and ferries, sent by the Philippine government and countries around the world. But the scale of the disaster and challenges of delivering the assistance means few in this city, strewn with debris and corpses, have received any help.

Evidence has emerged of looting in the Philippines in the wake of the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan as well as aid convoys being mobbed. (2)

There have been reports of relief agencies being mobbed, warehouses robbed and water pipes punctured as people try to get at precious supplies.

Desperation, thirst, hunger and opportunism are said to be provoking anarchy.

Northwest Christian University Class President Reveals He's an Atheist. (1)

A student from a Christian university in Oregon ditched the privacy of the confessional and went public about his faith, writing in the school newspaper: "I am an atheist. Yes, you read that correctly, I am an atheist."

Eric Fromm, 21, a senior at Northwest Christian University in Eugene published his thoughts about not believing in God in the Beacon Bolt, the student-run online newspaper -- despite the fact that his university is a Christian school.

Atheist 'mega-churches' take root across US, world (2)

It looked like a typical Sunday morning at any mega-church. Several hundred people, including families with small children, packed in for more than an hour of rousing music, an inspirational talk and some quiet reflection. The only thing missing was God.

Nearly three dozen gatherings dubbed "atheist mega-churches" by supporters and detractors have sprung up around the U.S. and Australia - with more to come - after finding success in Great Britain earlier this year. The movement fueled by social media and spearheaded by two prominent British comedians is no joke.

miguel de Portugal comments: Well, at least Eric Fromm is more sincere than most of those who control the Roman Catholic Church Administration. Believeing in the absolute reality of God as I do, through His Grace, we can asure you, that the behavior of most of those who have controlled the Roman Catholic Church Administration for the last 1600 years do not reflect a belief in God. Period! Giving them the benefit of the doubt would be as impossible as believing that there is such a thing as dry water.

Of course, that lack of faith, thus lack of sincere witness, is what has fueled the atheist and agnostic movements like never before.

Cardinal Daniel DiNardo has been appointed vice-President of the U.S. Bishop's conference.

Meet Cardinal DiNardo (1):

Watchdog Group: America's 5 'Worst' Cardinals

A list of America's five "worst" cardinals that a watchdogs group says have allegedly protected priests accused of sexual abuse was unveiled on April 2008 while the Benedict XVI  met with American cardinals in Washington.

"The secrecy, recklessness and deceit of these powerful cardinals have left thousands of children at risk for abuse," said Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) national director David Clohessy. Clohessy' group, made up of alleged victims of sexual abuse by Catholic clergy, compiled the list of supposed "worst" cardinals.

Cardinals Roger Mahony of Los Angeles, Daniel DiNardo of Houston, Edward Egan of New York, Francis George of Chicago and Sean O'Malley of Boston are the worst cardinals whose "secrecy and deceit" have been most egregious, according to SNAP.

Cardinal DiNardo suspended a priest accused of sexual abuse but kept his action and the sex abuse allegations against Fr. Stephen Horn secret for two months while he was named and promoted to cardinal, according to SNAP. When then-Bishop DiNardo served in Iowa, he similarly mishandled allegations of sex abuse against a priest, only disclosing them long afterwards, according to SNAP.

A spokeswoman for DiNardo said that once the allegations of sexual abuse came to the attention of Cardinal DiNardo, Fr. Horn was immediately removed from ministry and other contact with parishioners. "A professional inquiry followed, taking the amount of time the professionals involved deemed necessary to do their work properly. That time went from November 2007 to January 2008, a period which we, at the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, consider to be entirely appropriate," she said.

miguel de Portugal comments: Assuming that the accusation is rather harsh and that DiNardo's spokeswoman is speaking the truth, still, couldn't they have found a better candidate that does not appear on the "List of the Bad Guys" (2)? I guess those busy prelates have not reached the part of the Bible where Jesus said Woe to the world because of scandals. For it must needs be that scandals come: but nevertheless woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh. [Matthew 18:7]. They may still be working their way through the Old Testament.

On the positive side, at least DiNardo was not on the "List of the Really Bad Guys" (3)

Money preferred form of charity for typhoon relief. (1)

Faced with heartbreaking images of the typhoon-ravaged Philippines - the sea of corpses, communities reduced to rubble, mothers clutching their hungry children - the world is watching an epic tragedy unfold and looking for ways to help. The big question is how.

In the aftermath of mega-disasters such as Typhoon Haiyan, experts say there are some basic rules for those eager to do good: Do send a cash donation to a respected charity.

"It absolutely should be money," says Kathleen Tierney, director of the Natural Hazards Center at the University of Colorado-Boulder, a clearinghouse and research group on the social aspects and impacts of disasters around the world.

miguel de Portugal comments: In that way it can be easily mismanaged and mostly stolen as it has happened in an endless list of disaster relief efforts which have fallen by the wayside.

We challenge our readers to go back and check the status of the progress of the relief efforts of major worldwide catastrophes starting with Katrina and including population displacement due to wars.

God IS NOT impressed with the so called administrators of any and all relief efforts!

Egypt Worst Country In Arab World To Be A Woman, Comoros The Best. (1)

Egypt, the cauldron of the Arab Spring, is the worst country in the Arab world to be a woman, while the Union of the Comoros is the best, and the condition of women in Iraq worsened after a U.S.-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein's regime, according to the findings of a Thomson Reuters Foundation poll released on Tuesday.

Egypt was followed by Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen as the worst Arab countries for women, while Oman, Kuwait, Jordan and Qatar followed Comoros as the top countries for women according to the survey, which sampled 336 gender experts.

An increase in the past two years in incidents of sexual violence, harassment, trafficking of women, high rates of female genital mutilation, or FGM, and curtailing of women's rights, has pushed Egypt to the bottom of the list, the report said.

Simulated Attack Ravages Power Grid. (1)

In windowless rooms from the East Coast to California, nearly 10,000 electrical engineers, cybersecurity specialists, utility executives and F.B.I. agents furiously grappled over 48 hours with an unseen “enemy” who tried to turn out the lights across America. The enemy injected computer viruses into grid control systems, bombed transformers and substations and knocked out power lines by the dozen.

By late Thursday morning, in this unprecedented continental-scale war game to determine how prepared the nation is for a cyberattack, tens of millions of Americans were in simulated darkness. Hundreds of transmission lines and transformers were declared damaged or destroyed, and the engineers were rushing to assess computers that were, for the purposes of the drill, tearing their system apart.

"It's going really well," said Gerry W. Cauley, the president and chief executive of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, which ran the drill. "A bit scary, but really well."

Vatican website removes Pope's interview with founder of "La Repubblica" newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari. (1)

The Holy See has decided to delete the interview between Pope Francis and Eugenio Scalfari, the founder of Italian newspaper La Repubblica, from the Vatican's main portal. Scalfari had met with Francis to thank him for the open letter received and published by the newspaper.
In response to journalists' questions about the reason for this decision, the Holy See's spokesman, Fr. Federico Lombardi replied:

"The information in the interview is reliable on a general level but not on the level of each individual point analysed: this is why it was decided the text should not be available for consultation on the Holy See website. Its removal is a final update on the nature of this text. Some mistakes were made regarding its value, which was questioned. The Secretariat of State took the decision."
Ever since the interview was published, Fr. Lombardi declared that the Pope had not looked over the text personally. Scalfari had sent the text to the Vatican. The article did in fact contain expressions that did not seem like typical expressions Francis would have used.

There was also a mistake regarding what had gone on in the Sistine chapel. According to one of the answers, after obtaining the minimum number of votes required to be elected to the pontificate the Pope apparently went away to pray before accepting. This piece of information was false, as confirmed by a number of cardinals, including the Archbishop of New York, Timothy Dolan.
A statement – completely compatible with the Catechism of the Catholic Church - regarding the importance of conscience issue gave rise to many debates and discussions. Lombardi denied that the decision to remove the interview from the Vatican website was taken at the request of the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Gerhard  Ludwig Müller.

C.I.A. Collects Global Data on Transfers of Money. (1)

The Central Intelligence Agency is secretly collecting bulk records of international money transfers handled by companies like Western Union - including transactions into and out of the United States - under the same law that the National Security Agency uses for its huge database of Americans' phone records, according to current and former government officials.

The C.I.A. financial records program, which the officials said was authorized by provisions in the Patriot Act and overseen by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, offers evidence that the extent of government data collection programs is not fully known and that the national debate over privacy and security may be incomplete.

miguel de Portugal comments: And the problem is?

Considering the real drug trafficking problem and the also very real terrorist activities - which need funding - we would consider a problem if the C.I.A. did not monitor such money traffic.

What would an honest citizen prefer: (a) Walk up to a Western Union counter in Spain, for example, and be given the third degree about who is the recipient of the money being sent, what is your relationship with him/her and what is the money for, etc. etc. in front of everyone else standing in line; or (b) Have a governmental intelligence group monitoring the transactions which would be looked into only if a pattern develops?

An honest citizen could be a father or a mother wiring some bail money to get the son out of jail after a DWI. How would that individual feel having to give all of those details in the presence of a group of strangers and gossiping neighbors?

Frankly, I do not even see why the C.I.A. or N.S.A. need a special law to do so. The world situation demands that they do!

FBI: Anonymous Hackers Stole Info on 100,000 Federal Employees, Contractors. (1)

Hackers associated with Anonymous launched a year-long campaign to break into multiple government agency networks and steal the personal information of over 100,000 employees, contractors and family members, according to a recently distributed memo obtained by Reuters.

The FBI memo, Reuters reports, was meant to call for aministrators to clean up the mess left behind by Lauri Love, a 28-year-old British man arrested at the end of October for stealing employee personal information from the government. Love was accused of working with a team of hackers to leave malware in networks for the U.S. Army, NASA and the Missile Command Agency, among others, that gave them "back door" access to networks and allowed them to come and go as they pleased.

Love and his co-conspirators, who the FBI believe were loosely-involved with the Anonymous hacking collective Anonymous, would re-enter the networks and steal the personal information of employees, contractors and family members. Despite Love's indictment, the FBI believes his co-workers have continued their campaign, "a widespread problem that should be addressed," the memo says.

Options Narrowed, U.S. Is Said to Weigh Destroying Syrian Chemicals at Sea. (1)

Officials did not say whether any chemical residue would be dumped in the ocean. The system could be operational in 75 days.

The seaborne options have received more serious consideration after Albania on Friday turned down an appeal by the United States to destroy the weapons on its territory;...

Under one plan, five incinerators operating at temperatures of 2,700 degrees aboard the barge would be able to destroy all of Syria's most serious precursor materials for chemical weapons in less than 60 days. Officials said the byproducts would be harmless salts and other solids.

No American companies, ships or personnel would be involved under this proposal,...

Practically minutes before Kennedy was to remind the world of such fundamental truth, he was cut down. Quoting from the speech that he was never to deliver at the Dallas Trade Mart:

We in this country, in this generation, are, by destiny rather than choice, the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of "peace on earth, goodwill toward men." That must always be our goal, and the righteousness of our cause must always underlie our strength. For as was written long ago, "except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."

It seems - and history confirms - that with the passing of Kennedy, God announced that the world was entering on the second half of the period when He no longer was  "keeping the city" with all that it entailed.

When one considers that World War I became manifested in the world in the year 1914 - almost 50 years before the assassination of President Kennedy - and all God "said" through the dates associated with World Wars I and II, such statement does not seem outside the realm of reality.

May his soul rest in peace!

Church resurgence attributed to popularity of Pope Francis. (1)

Charismatic Pope After years in decline, the Roman Catholic Church is experiencing a resurgence in popularity with Pope Francis credited with filling the pews again, reports the Courier-Mail.

Catholics across the globe are apparently going back to church inspired by the charismatic Argentinian-born Pope Francis and his refreshing approach to modernise the church.
The Italian Centre for Studies of New Religion has branded it the "Francis effect" where in Great Britain, largely a Church of England nation, Catholic congregations alone have risen by 20 per cent.

Similar support for the church is being experienced elsewhere in the world notably Italy, Spain, France, Latin American and the United States.
More than half the priests surveyed in Italy cited a rise in support for the church, similar reports too from Spain where the clergy is reporting an end to a decade long decline.

Every time the 76-year-old pontiff conducts a papal audience in Rome, 85,000 people surge into St Peter's Square to hear him, numbers not seen, except for special events or festivals, for years.
Many church clergy in Europe have cited the pope's down-to-earth attitude in everything he does, from his shunning luxury papal accommodations to instead stay in a modest apartment, through to carrying his own bags as part of the church appeal. Luxury papal cars have been replaced by a Ford Focus.

miguel de Portugal comments: All is working out according to the scheduled plan.

We just feel sorry for the members of the Elect who will be fooled for a while until God allows so much pain on them that they will finally See and Hear and abandon the Wagon to Hell.

Carriers reject kill switch for stolen smartphones. (1)

Samsung Electronics, the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer, has proposed installing a built-in anti-theft measure known as a "kill switch" that would render stolen or lost phones inoperable, but San Francisco's top prosecutor says the nation's biggest carriers have rejected the idea.

District Attorney George Gascon said Monday that AT&T Inc., Verizon Wireless, United States Cellular Corp., Sprint Corp. and T-Mobile US Inc. rebuffed Samsung's proposal to preload its phones with Absolute LoJack anti-theft software as a standard feature.

The wireless industry says a kill switch isn't the answer because it could allow a hacker to disable someone's phone.

Gascon, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and other law enforcement officials have been demanding that manufacturers create kill switches to combat surging smartphone theft across the country.

Almost 1 in 3 U.S. robberies involve phone theft, according to the Federal Communications Commission. Lost and stolen mobile devices - mostly smartphones - cost consumers more than $30 billion last year, according to a study cited by Schneiderman in June.

miguel de Portugal comments: Without getting into the details, the reason for the opposition is because "the nation's biggest carriers" make a bumber-crop type business as the result of such thefts. Their excuse is so lame that it shows what they think about the average consumer. Right now smart phones can be hacked and done with them whatever the hacker wills!

By the way, the "kill switch" is used in many - if not all - European Union countries.

Why do we share this kind of news report? Because "it shows what the 'masters of telecomunications' think about the average consumer" and remind our readers about how little they should be trusted.

One very good thing the European Union has done is to place those Masters of Telecommunications where they belong - under tight governmental control.

 When Children Are Traded. (1)

A few ads offering free children on the Internet:

"Born in October of 2000 - this handsome boy, 'Rick,' was placed from India a year ago and is obedient and eager to please."

"We adopted an 8-year-old girl from China. ... Unfortunately, we are now struggling, having been home for 5 days."

"Prayerfully seeking a loving and nurturing family for our 14-year-old daughter who has been with us for almost a year. She honestly is almost a model child."

This is "private re-homing," something that once meant finding a new home for a dog that barked too much. Now it refers to families recycling their adopted children, often through Internet postings.

There are commonly no courts involved, no lawyers, no social service agencies and no vetting of the new parents. There's less formality than the transfer of a car.

Private re-homing of adoptive children was explored in a devastating five-part investigative series this fall from Reuters.

The reporters found that on one Yahoo message board, a child was offered for re-homing on average once a week (Yahoo has since closed the board). Most of the children ranged in age from 6 to 14 and had been adopted abroad, but some were American-born.

miguel de Portugal comments: The above is more than enough reason to pray for the safety of our children. Let us not forget that, just because we do not know them, they are our responsibility before the Holy Eyes of God.

Of course, that applies only to those who believe that: Therefore I say unto you, all things, whatsoever you ask when ye pray, believe that you shall receive; and they shall come unto you. [Mark 11:24]

I do, and see the results every day.

Department of Homeland Security employee calling for mass killing of White people still on DHS payroll. (1)

Ayo Kimathi, a black-nationalist who works as a procurement officer for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE), is calling for "ethnic cleansing" of "black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors," and says that “in order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites - more than our Christian hearts can possibly count.”

Department of Homeland Security deputy press secretary Gillian Christensen has confirmed that DHS has not terminated Ayo Kimathi, a black-nationalist who works as a procurement officer for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Kimathi was placed on administrative leave four months ago after it came to light that he was operating a Web site which calls for the mass murder of whites. DHS has condemned Kimathi's political views and said his employment is under review.

miguel de Portugal comments: "... have to kill a lot of whites - more than our Christian hearts can possibly count."  and  He has been four months on administrative leave with full pay? and His employment is under review?

Obviously the problem is not Mr. Kimathi, the problem are his superiors. Only God knows how many Mr. Kimathi's we have employed in highly sensitive to our National Security areas. But then again, it really does not matter any more. It is already too late. This is just another reminder as to "where we are at".

Using keyboard, mouse, and mobile device "fingerprints" to protect data. (1)

Passwords are not secure because they can be hacked or hijacked to get at sensitive personal, corporate, or even national security data. Researchers suggest a more secure way to verify computer users and protect data: tracking individual typing patterns. The researchers are now working on developing ways to identify and track individual patterns of using a mobile device or a computer mouse.

Morris Chang, an Iowa State University associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, says the patterns are unique to individuals.

"These pauses between words, searches for unusual characters and spellings of unfamiliar words, all have to do with our past experiences, our learning experiences," he said. "And so we call them 'cognitive fingerprints' which manifest themselves in typing rhythms."

miguel de Portugal comments: Let's see.... Supervising  employees like Snowden and Kimathi without detecting that there is something really wrong with them (which should have been obvious) and we are worrying about detecting typing and mouse patterns?

First Epistle Of Saint Paul To The Thessalonians [5:1-10]

The day of the Lord shall come when least expected.

[1] But of the times and moments, brethren, you need not, that we should write to you; [2] For yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall so come, as a thief in the night. [3] For when they shall say, peace and security; then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape. [4] But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [5] For all you are the children of light, and children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

[6] Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do; but let us watch, and be sober. [7] For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunk, are drunk in the night. [8] But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breastplate of faith and charity, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. [9] For God hath not appointed us unto wrath, but unto the purchasing of salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, [10] Who died for us; that, whether we watch or sleep, we may live together with him.

Francis issues Motu Proprio on Vatican Financial Information Authority. (1)
An Apostolic Letter approving the FIA's new statutes was published. The pontifical document will come into force this coming 21 November.

The Motu Proprio mainly regards the Vatican Financial Information Authority (FIA): the statutes had to be reviewed in order to adapt the FIA to its new functions and tasks. No major changes have been made, just some adjustments in light of the new laws promulgated in recent months.

This is according to a statement given by Fr. Federico Lombardi during a press conference on Pope Francis' Motu Proprio in the Vatican newsroom.
"A Motu Proprio is needed whenever a new law is passed in this field, also in order to make it efficient," the Holy See's spokesman, Fr. Federico Lombardi said.

Essentially, "offices will be adjusted and reorganised according to FIA's new functions," he added.

"Do not be fooled by false messiahs" (1)

"November 17th's Gospel passage described how Jesus addressed the people of Jerusalem who were commenting on the temple and how beautiful it was and urged them to pay attention to the 'real issues' and not to secondary aspects."

The Pope highlighted the pertinence today of the words pronounced by the Son of God "even for us who live in the XXI century." Francis called for "discernment" and urged faithful to "understand the difference between the spirit of the Lord and the spirit of evil." "Take heed that you not be deceived. Many will come in my name," Francis said.
"Even today, in fact, there are false "saviours", who attempt to substitute leaders of this world, holy men , even sorcerers for Jesus, people who want to attract hearts and minds, especially of young people, to themselves. Jesus warns us: "Do not follow them". And the Lord also helps us to not be afraid when faced with wars, revolutions, but also to natural disasters, epidemics, Jesus frees us from fatalism and false apocalyptic visions."

"In the end, Jesus makes a promise that is a guarantee of victory: "By your perseverance you will secure your lives" (v.19). How much hope in these words! They are a reminder of the hope and patience, to be able to wait for the fruits of salvation certain, confident in the profound sense of life and of history,” the Pope said.
"The trials and difficulties are part of a bigger picture, and the Lord, the Lord of history, leads all to its fulfilment. Despite the turmoil and disasters that affect the world, God's plan of goodness and mercy will be fulfilled! And this is our hope. Travelling this road, the road of God, it will be accomplished."

Finally, the Pope recommended “a special medicine to realize the fruits of the Year of Faith, which is drawing to a close. Its a medicine of 59 beaded grains: it is a spiritual medicine called Misericordina… kept in a box,” which some volunteers distributed as faithful left the square.

miguel de Portugal comments: We see that Bergoglio is preaching that all that Jesus taught, and warned, about the End of These Times should not be of our concern. They are just "false apocalyptic visions". He reminds us of Ratzinger's belittling the apocalyptic visions of the Manifestation in Fatima. (2)

As the saying goes - "Birds of a  feather flock together."

If that were not enough - Bergoglio mocked the Holy Rosary and its primordial importance in the Salvific Plan. For those who may be thinking: "Oh, but at least he recommended it." Allow us to explain what undoubtedly happened.

Some Catholic group - with leverage at the Vatican - wanted to promote the prayer of the Holy Rosary and distribute some rosaries at that time. Prior to his show, Bergoglio was asked to announce it. What could he say? No? Of course not! The Off-Broadway show man could not say "No" to such a truly pious request. So, what to do? A passing mention at the end  as Misericodina - just another drug.... "kept in a box".

It is not difficult to see the subliminal message: "Religion is the opium (the drug) of the people" paraphrasing the words of Karl Marx - the father of communism.

Motorola applies patent for 'electronic skin tattoo'. (1)

Motorola has filed a patent application for an electronic skin tattoo, which is proposed for use as a smart phone microphone and wireless transceiver.

Incorporating power supply build-up to receive energising signals from a personal area network, the new temporary tattoo allows wireless communication with the user's smart phone, a battery and controller.

The new tattoo is proposed to be applied to users' neck, which would pick sounds produced by their voice by interpreting vibrations and variations of muscle or tissue from their voice box.

Users are still required to use headphones or the built-in receiver to listen in to the incoming audio.

miguel de Portugal comments: (sarcasm on) We will wait until no headphones are required. Just too much of a hassle!  (sarcasm off)

November 27th, 2013

We are sharing with you the entire news report - which we ask you not to circulate due to copyright restrictions - because it best illustrates what the world faces and why most will fall for the deception.... agnostics and atheists included!

What is claimed in this news report that Bergoglio stands for and proposes - is almost word by word from "my book". That is, were we not on the final stretch with no remedy in hand other than to pray to minimize the suffering of a few - that is exatcly what I, in the Name of God, would do in the Church to return it to the right path. The path that Jesus intended to be.

Now, with that said, let us ask:

(1) Why did he not do that in Argentina where he had complete freedom of action as the head of the RCC in Argentina?
(2) If he had done that in Argentina - in case a reader be thinking now "How do we know if he did or not?" - the College of Cardinals would not have even elected him as Official Shoe-Shine man to the Holy See.
(3) Why doesn't he cease to praise Ratzinger - to the extent of calling him a father figure to him, a man who has proven to be the complete antithesis of what Bergoglio preaches?
(4) Why is the Opus Dei in charge of his Public Relations effort? An organization that could not be further away from what Bergoglio indicates is  "the way the Church and the World should be"?
(5) If 50 years after the Second Vatican Council, its mild (by comparison) changes have not been fully implemented, how can anyone expect what Bergoglio claims will be the solution to all the Church problems be implemented soon?
(6) If anyone thinks that the answer to (5) above is: "Because all things are possible with God" - our question then is: Why didn't God do it 1,000 years ago instead of allowing man to murder man - in His Name, of course - for ten centuries? A situation which has progressively worsened to the point where Mary had been visiting us for the last 200 years as one last supernatural effort to avoid the Chastisement?
Only those who have Eyes to See will be able to see sooner or (with much suffering) later what is coming and avoid it.

The stage is set and the curtain should be going up soon.

May God have Mercy on His Elect!

Pope issues mission statement for papacy
November 26, 2013 4:09 PM EST

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis denounced the global financial system that excludes the poor as he issued the mission statement for his papacy on Tuesday, saying he wants the Catholic Church to get its hands dirty as it seeks to bring solace and mercy to society's outcasts.

In a 224-page document, Francis pulled together the priorities he has laid out over eight months of homilies, speeches and interviews, pushing to shift the church away from a focus on doctrine to one of joyful welcome in a bid to draw in believers in a world marked by secularization and vast income inequalities.

The document, Evangelii Gaudium, (The Joy of the Gospel), is the second major teaching document issued by Francis, but is the first actually written by him since the encyclical "The Light of Faith," issued in July, was penned almost entirely by Pope Benedict XVI before he resigned.

Francis' concerns are laced throughout, and the theological and historical citations leave no doubt about his own points of reference and priorities: Popes John XXIII and Paul VI, who presided over the Second Vatican Council, which brought the church into the modern world, are cited repeatedly.

And in a first for an apostolic exhortation, as this type of papal pronouncement is called, Francis cited various documents of bishops' conferences from around the world, an indication of the importance he places in giving the local church greater say in church governance.

In the text, Francis denounced trickle-down economic theories as unproven and naive, saying they are based on a survival of the fittest mentality "where the powerful feed upon the powerless" with no regard for ethics, the environment or even God.

"Money must serve, not rule!" he said in calling for political leaders to reform the system. "The Pope loves everyone, rich and poor alike, but he is obliged in the name of Christ to remind all that the rich must help, respect and promote the poor."

In a direct challenge to the focus of the past two popes, he also decried the church's "obsession" with rules and doctrine and said in some cases, the church's old customs can be cast aside if they no longer serve to communicate the faith.

In the church's "hierarchy of truths," mercy is paramount, proportion is necessary, and what counts is inviting the faithful in, he said.

At the same time, Francis restated the church's opposition to abortion, making clear that the doctrine is non-negotiable and is at the core of the church's insistence on the dignity of every human being.

The aim of the text was to set out his idea of what the Catholic Church should be, and how its priests, bishops and even the pope must change course to fulfill the task.

"I prefer a church which is bruised, hurting and dirty because it has been out on the streets, rather than a church which is unhealthy from being confined and from clinging to its own security," he wrote. "I do not want a church concerned with being at the center and then ends up by being caught up in a web of obsessions and procedures."

He added: "More than by fear of going astray, my hope is that we will be moved by the fear of remaining shut up within structures which give us a false sense of security, within rules which make us harsh judges, within habits which make us feel safe, while at our door people are starving and Jesus does not tire of saying to us, 'Give them something to eat.'"

In the frank and often funny style that has come to define Francis' preaching, the Argentine Jesuit chastised priests for their complacency, giving them a lesson on preparing homilies that don't put the faithful to sleep. He reminded them that confession shouldn't be "torture," and told them to get out of their sacristies, get their shoes muddy, get involved in the lives of their faithful and not be defeatist "sourpusses."

While again ruling out women's ordination, Francis called for greater role for women in making decisions in the church and said the faithful ought not to think that just because priests preside over Mass that they are more important than the people who make up the church itself.

"The church, as the agent of evangelization, is more than an organic hierarchical institution; she is first and foremost a people advancing on its pilgrim way towards God," he wrote.

Francis cited Vatican II documents calling for a more decentralized church authority and said he too must rethink the papacy to achieve the goals of spreading the faith. He noted that Pope John Paul II had asked for proposals to rethink the way the primacy of the pope is exercised, a delicate and potentially revolutionary issue that hasn't yet been resolved.

Francis is currently overseeing a major overhaul of the Vatican's dysfunctional administration, but he said that he was "open to suggestions" about how to change the very nature of the papacy and its relation to the world's bishops conferences, to make the papacy reflect better what Jesus intended and what the church needs today.

"Excessive centralization, rather than proving helpful, complicates the church's life and her missionary outreach," he said.

Pope Francis: Times of Persecution Mean the Lord Is Near. (1)

"[There] religion cannot be spoken of, it is something private, no? Publicly it is not spoken about. The religious signs are taken down. The laws that come from the worldly powers must be obeyed. You can do so many beautiful things except adore God. Worship is prohibited," the Pope said.

"This is the center of this end. And when this arrives in its fullness - to the 'kairos' (2) of this pagan attitude, when this is fulfilled - then yes, He will come: 'And they will see the Son of man come on a cloud with great power and glory.' Christians who have suffered in times of persecution, in times of the prohibition of worship are a prophecy of that which will happen to all."

Concluding his homily, Pope Francis called on the faithful to be loyal and patient. The times of persecution mean that that the victory of Jesus Christ is near.

"This week it will do us well to think of this general apostasy, which is called the prohibition of adoration and ask ourselves: ‘Do I adore the Lord? Do I adore Jesus Christ, the Lord? Or is it half and half, do I play the play the prince of this world," he said. "To adore till the end, with loyalty and faithfulness: this is the grace that we should ask for this week."

miguel de Portugal comments: Now Bergoglio is announcing the immediacy of the return of Jesus Christ, while the other day (3) we saw that he was preaching that all that Jesus taught, and warned, about the End of These Times should not be of our concern. They are just "false apocalyptic visions" according to him.

(2) Kairos is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment). The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. While the former refers to chronological or sequential time, the latter signifies a time between, a moment of indeterminate time in which something special happens. What the special something is depends on who is using the word.
